Alumni

Who is Considered to be an alumnus?

Because of the high mobility of the students who have attended Rosslyn, we include students who were here for any part of their education, as being alumni. To only recognize those students who actually graduated would be leaving out a big part of the family. Those who have attended Rosslyn know what I mean.

Getting in the alumni “network”

We are pleased to tell you that Rosslyn has made a commitment to the former students and teachers of Rosslyn Academy and it’s predecessor schools. Currently Rosslyn is supporting a 1/4 time alumni relations position out of its stateside office. This position is devoted to keeping former students and teachers connected with each other, as well as to keep them informed of current happenings that may be of interest to them.

Currently we are in contact with over 2000 former students and teachers. It has been rewarding to hear the many stories of people being reunited or reconnected after many years. We have helped several people reconnect as they were trying to bring closure to their experience in Kenya, feeling like they had never fully done that. Others want to reconnect because they are trying to make sense of, and/or bring clarification to their experience of growing up in a different culture. Some want to reconnect to be able to share that part of their lives with their loved ones. Of course, many are just plain curious about where their friends have ended up.

If you are a former student or teacher of Rosslyn Academy, or it’s predecessor schools, and you are not yet in contact with us, we encourage you to contact us, and get connected. Simply email us at alumni@rosslynacademy.com. Once we get your information, we will send you periodic class directories. These contain the e-mail address and location of former classmates or co-workers. Also included with these directories are other items of interest to former Rosslynites.

You will also find many former classmates and teachers on Facebook. If you go to the site of Dan King and look in the friends list, you will find quite a few of these. If you need help finding my facebook page, please contact me using the information listed below. You can also search for “Rosslyn Academy” which will also turn up quite a few sites where you will find former students.

Reunions

Individual Class Reunions……  We strongly encourage individual classes to plan well in advance for 5, 10, 15, and 20 year class reunions.  The alumni office can assist you by providing the contact information that we have on file for your classmates.  Also if you would like us to, we can provide your reunion with Rosslyn history, current updates about present day Rosslyn, Rosslyn yearbook archive, etc.
