High School

Rosslyn Academy provides a world-class Christian education to the international community in Nairobi, Kenya. We offer a full college preparatory curriculum in the American system, and we work to nurture lifelong learners in preparation for higher education and future careers in business, medicine, education, research, development, government and more.

Our staff are dedicated teachers who come to Rosslyn with a genuine desire to educate and to serve. We focus on academic excellence across our core subjects — Science, Math, English, and Social Studies — providing freshman through senior-level courses in each core area. Additionally, we have an extensive Advanced Placement program that allows students to push beyond high school level and earn college credit through a rigorous study and exam process.

At Rosslyn, we know that educating the leaders of tomorrow requires more than academic excellence in core subjects. We offer programs that allow students to explore and develop their gifts in art, music, drama, foreign language, technology and business. Rosslyn Academy High School provides introductory courses that allow all students to explore each of these areas, but we also provide a growth track for those who excel in a given discipline. Students who excel at our introductory Technology Applications course can elect to further their skills taking Programming I & II, Web Design, Digital Multimedia and more.

Student life beyond the classroom is also key to developing the whole student. Leadership opportunities through student government provides formal opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills. Our strong co-curricular programs develop mind, body and soul for our young athletes, artists, and leaders.

Spiritual development is also a important focus of our community. Rosslyn Academy is enthusiastically Christian — we foster the spiritual development of all students and provide opportunities for growth and reflection through weekly chapels, Christian Religious Education courses, and Spiritual Emphasis Week.

We believe as followers of Christ it is our responsibility to serve the world community, and we seek to develop learners who understand their time and place in the world. Events like our week-long Cultural Field Studies connects students to the culture of Kenya outside Nairobi, and projects like our annual school wide Christmas Project gives students a broader context of the world around our school and how through working together we can have a positive impact on the issues our world faces.

Ultimately, though, Rosslyn Academy is a close knit community of educators and learners. If you visited our campus after school, you might see our Dean of Students in the weight room lifting with students or outside chatting with kids on the steps by the varsity soccer pitch. Evenings, you might catch a parent/teacher basketball game in progress. On weekends, you may see a pick up soccer game with parents, students, teachers and staff all out on the pitch together. Or you might go for a swim in the pool and find a group of students and staff kids and their parents enjoying the sun.

When you come to Rosslyn, you aren’t simply enrolling in a school — you are joining an international community, one that is focused on helping your student develop their God-given gifts for Christ-like service in the world community.
